Drowning

I was drowning.
I was fighting to live, to survive.
I did not give up.

The water has receded a little today.
Maybe it is the tide.
But I am too tired to be happy.

I am still in the water.
Tiptoeing to get some oxygen.
At least, I get some air.

Until the high tide comes again.
Real soon. Too soon.
But I shall not drowned.

One day after another,
I hope for a lifesaver.
I found none at all.
But there are seagulls,
flying around and checking on me.
I am thankful.
